KIDDERMINSTER Harriers winger Thomas Skovbjerg will return to first team action for the first time since March when he lines up against Solihull Borough in tonight's Worcestershire Senior Cup quarter-final at Aggborough (7.45).

The talented Dane has already played in a couple of reserve matches recently as part of his long and determined fightback from a cruciate knee ligament injury.

Tonight, however, he will take another major step on the road to recovery with his first senior appearance since March 11 when the ligament snapped during a Nationwide Conference match against Altrincham.

Following the injury, Skovbjerg underwent two operations and had to have a brace on his leg for a month before being able to start his recovery.

Jan Molby has yet to finalise his squad but revealed that the tricky winger will be in Harriers starting line-up.

The Aggborough boss said: "It's obviously a long process now for him of just playing games. It will be nice for him to have a run out tonight as he needs as many games as possible.

"We now have a break in reserve team matches, which is unfortunate, so he needs to play tonight. When you have been out for that long you always look forward to any game."

Long-serving midfielder Paul Webb is also likely to play tonight, although he did not train yesterday along with Scott Stamps and Ian Clarkson.

The trio have been on the injury list recently, but are all expected to be available for selection for Saturday's Nationwide League Division Three trip to Hull City.

Webb has been suffering from a groin injury, Stamps has had ankle ligament trouble with Clarkson being sidelined by hamstring trouble.

The composition of tonight's side is likely to be made up of a mixture of first teamers, reserves and youth players.

Among those expected to feature are goalkeeper Brendan Murphy or Tim Clarke, Dean Bennett, Gary Barnett, Tony Bird, Ben Davies and Andrew Corbett.

Molby said: "It's a competition we would like to win again and now we are a Football League club we can put out any team we want. But I'd like to think that the team we will put out will be good enough to win."

Solihull, who lost 3-0 to Kidderminster in last season's final at Aggborough, are currently in eighth place in the Dr Martens League Western Division.

The winners of tonight's tie will face a home semi-final against Moor Green who are riding high in the Dr Martens Premier Division, although they suffered a setback on Saturday when they lost 2-1 at home to Nigel Clough's table-topping Burton Albion.
