THIS is the time of year when players start wondering if they are going to be offered a new contract - but for Kidderminster Harriers' young striker Andrew Corbett the waiting is over.

The talented 19-year-old was delighted to be offered a new two-year contract, having impressed during a handful of displays this season.

He was handed his full Nationwide League Third Division debut in Harriers' clash at Halifax Town in early January - and he loved every minute of it!

Worcester-based Corbett now hopes to repay the faith shown in him by manager Jan Molby, saying: "I'm confident that with this year's experience behind me I will be a better player next season."

He admits, however, that his first taste of Division Three action has was very much a learning curve.

"The tempo was far quicker and the pressure greater though I thoroughly enjoyed it and I thought I did quite well, though I felt I should have scored near the end.

"But that's part of the learning process, you make mistakes as you are learning the game but the important thing is learning from them. If I can correct them then hopefully I can improve as a player."

Corbett, a product of Kidderminster's youth and reserve team set-up, acknowledges that his first season as a full-time professional has been made easier by his Aggborough team-mates.

He said: "They have been brilliant with me and that helps you settle. Players like Mark Shail, Ian Clarkson and Paul Webb will often try and help me with advice.

"They have been in the game a long time and so have a lot of knowledge to pass on to me. That is very important."

As part of his development Corbett went on a month's loan to Redditch United earlier this season.
