FOUR weeks after the last foot and mouth outbreak in Worcestershire, moves towards lifting restrictions in infected areas are well under way.
Three-kilometre protection zones around Astwood Bank, Stoke Prior, Bishampton and Besford are likely to be first to be given the all-clear.
A MAFF spokesman said teams had been sent in to clean and disinfect infected premises and carry out blood tests on farms surrounding them.
Only when all this had been done and tests had proved negative would restrictions be lifted.
