TAKE your marks for this year's Bromsgrove junior bikeathon, which is set to be bigger and better than ever before.

The sponsored cycle ride, which raises money for Leukaemia Research, is for the first time being supported by children's TV programme Blue Peter.

There are 65 events taking place simultaneously across the country on Sunday May 6.

Organisers hope the bikeathons together will earn them a place in the Guinness Book of Records for the largest ever organised cycling event.

The Bromsgrove Blue Peter Bikeathon will take place in Sanders Park on a one-mile fully-marshalled track away from traffic.

Children can ride as many laps as they like and parents can accompany younger children.

For safety reasons, there is a limit of 500 riders, but entry is free.

Entry forms are available from the Blue Peter website at www.bbc.co.uk/bluepeter or by sending a large stamped addressed envelope to Blue Peter Bikeathon, PO Box 1234, London WC1R 4XA.
