I WRITE to you at a time when the Countryside is in crisis.
As a matter of respect, I have written no letters on the issue of hunting with hounds.
This is neither the time nor the place. I would ask everyone to spare a thought for every livestock farmer throughout this county and through the length and breadth of Great Britain.
The agricultural industry is mortally wounded. To date, more than 100,000 animals have been destroyed in the effort to overcome this terrifying disease.
The countryside has effectively been closed down. We can argue about he rights and wrongs of the hunting issue at a later date.
I just wish that this government would adopt the same attitude! In the meantime, I would hope that everyone will join together any play their part in helping to eradicate this dreadful disease.
TIM PINNEY,
Chairman,
Worcestershire Countryside Alliance.
