ALL the gates and doors at the County Ground will be open at Worcestershire County Cricket Club's annual Open Day on Sunday.

The day will allow the public as well as embers and supporters to see behind the scenes at New Road, and allows potential members to see all the benefits which Worcestershire and County Cricket in general has to offer.

Worcestershire's players will be in action in the nets where youngsters will have the chance to bowl at the County's stars, and the players will give youngsters the chance to take part in fielding drills, also.

County captain Graeme Hick and Vikram Solanki will take part in a question and answer session during the afternoon.

Club Physiotherapist Jane Rees will be demonstrating warm-up drills used by the players and will be on hand to answer questions about fitness and treatment procedures.

The Duckworth-Lewis method of calculating results in shortened one-day games, which is now adopted world-wide as the fairest system but which is little understood by the average cricket follower, will be demonstrated to those keen on the intricacies of the game.

Club shop, New Road 1, will also be open and bargain hunters will be able to take advantage of a half-price sale. A new range in leisurewear will also be available and anyone taking membership of the County during the day will get an added bonus of a New Road 1 voucher.

Secretary Mike Vockins said: "Open Day has become a very popular annual event both with members and also with local folk who have never previously visited the ground.

"It is a tremendous opportunity to see all the facilities the club has to offer. And of course with Glenn McGrath on board this summer we're looking forward to an exciting season.

"The pavilion, dressing rooms, hospitality suites, Press box, commentary box, indeed everywhere, will be open for and we're looking forward to welcoming visitors her.

The Open Day starts at 2pm on Sunday.
