TWO Worcestershire women have achieved standard certificates at a school for new homes sales consultants.

Jackie Bishop, from Droitwich, and Maggie Surman, from Malvern, were among a dozen women who took part in an intensive course at the Maitland Selwyn school, involving knowledge of the law on misrepresentation, sources of mortgage lending and associated information.

Maitland Selwyn sells new homes for some of the top names in the industry and, in the past five years, more than 500 people have passed through its school which is thought to be the only one of its kind.

The two women now have the opportunity of part-time employment over the next few weeks as well as the prospects of full-time employment as new sites open up in the spring.

"The school and the opportunities it provides to advance in the building industry, becomes more popular year by year," said Pauline Morrissey, recruitment manager for the company.
