LEON Jackson's late consolation could not save Redditch United's blushes as they were beaten 3-1 at Atherstone United in the Dr Martens League Western Division.
The Warwickshire side had not won at home since January but found their scoring touch against high-flying Reds.
Former Redditch defender Dominic Reece capped an impressive display for his new club by scoring the opener and setting up the second.
The deadlock was broken on 15 minutes, Reece steering a shot past Redditch 'keeper Harvey Willetts, and the wing-back crossed for Steve Farmer to send a looping header into the net for the Adders' second on the half-hour.
Andrew Corbett fired over the Atherstone bar late in the first-half before Reds fell further behind on 51 minutes, the nippy Leon Kelly racing clear of his marker before firing home.
The introduction of substitute Ian Bennett coincided with Redditch playing their best football, their three-pronged attack proving a handful for the home side. But Jackson's headed consolation ten minutes from time was too late to deny Atherstone victory.
