UPTON played this home fixture on MGC astro, a pitch they have become quite used to in recent weeks.

UPTON LADIES 2, CAMP HILL 3

The game started well with some nice hockey being played although Upton seemed to dominate most of the first half. Upton were missing a few key players due to injuries, but still managed to keep a good pace up. It was Upton's left back Jacky Farley who scored their first goal by carrying the ball the length of the field to be faced with Camp Hill's keeper but she was not stopping there she simply wellied the ball past her. Upton settled back down and continued to pressure Camp Hill but as the half time whistle went the score remained 1-0 to Upton.

At the start of the second half, Martha hit a beautiful ball to Paula Sayers who in turn laid off a great ball to Sally Burroughs who took the ball into the D and sent it whistling past the keeper to put Upton 2-0 up.

But within five minutes Camp Hill managed to equalise with two very quick and very good goals which took Upton totally by surprise.

Upton, looking a bit shell shocked, tried to find the back of the net again and shots missed by Vanessa Dawe, Paula Sayers and Sally Burroughs.

Try as they might Upton couldn't stop Camp Hill's forwards from breaking through and scoring what was to be the winning goal.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Upton Ladies are at home, start 2pm.
