MALVERN Wells athlete Stewart Halion picked to two silver medals in the European Indoor Veteran Championships in Bordeaux.
Stewart, who took gold in both the 1500m and 800m at Cardiff in the Over 50 age group at the British Indoor Championships last month, doubled up again in France and again was amongst the medals.
The event attracted 4,000 athletes from 32 countries but the strong British team provided the first three home in the 800m with Stewart being pushed into second place by the former British Champion who he had beaten at Cardiff.
Stewart said: "I felt good so I decided to do both the events but that means four races in two days. I lost the 1500m final by virtually the thickness of a vest to a German runner who was only doing that event, but that's a chance you take.
"I am now training hard for the World Veteran Championships in Brisbane, Australia, in mid-July."
