COUNCILLORS went against their officers' advice at a Wychavon planning meeting last Thursday and turned down plans for more antenna dishes on Bredon Hill.
MLL Telecom Ltd wanted to erect three more mobile phone dishes on a stone tower on the top of Bredon Hill, to the western side. But councillors overwhelmingly opposed the plans.
Councillor Lewis said: "Villagers have strong objections to the application, mainly on the grounds of visibility. It looks an absolute eyesore."
Planning officers recommended approval because masts were already attached to the stone tower.
They said additional dishes would not cause undue harm.
