HEREFORD United Director of Football Graham Turner is hoping to bring a First Division player in on loan before the transfer deadline.

Turner, whose side entertain Dagenham and Redbridge in the Nationwide Conference tomorrow (3pm), has been tracking an unnamed player for several weeks.

He said: "We would like to think we can bring in a player on loan before the deadline, hopefully in time to register him for the Trophy.

"The main problem is the old one of dropping down into the Conference -- League players generally want to stay in the League."

To be eligible for the first leg of the semi-final at Forest Green on March 31, the player would need to be signed seven days before that.

Meanwhile, Turner will be ensuring his players' minds don't stray towards the semi-final just yet.

The Bulls' main focus now is on improving their league position, having dropped to seventh, and Turner says it will be useful to face the Conference's form team, who have won their last four matches.

He said: "They have had a terrific season with their exploits in the FA Cup, but at this stage of the season, a game like this is probably better than facing a side in mid-table. It is a challenge for us.

"We need to focus on improving our position. A top seven finish is vital with the entry in the LDV Vans Trophy that comes with it."

Midfielder Ian Rodgerson is the only doubt, having been forced to come off in the midweek defeat at Stevenage with a thigh injury.

Winger Paul Parry will be on the bench following his long-term ankle injury, with Turner adding: "He is getting closer to being fully fit and being able to start again."

Meanwhile, tickets go on sale for the first leg of the Trophy semi-final tomorrow.

Priced £8 for adults and £5 concessions, they are available to season ticket holders and members at the main office from 12 noon-1pm, and to all fans from 1pm-2.30pm in the Legends bar. Remaining tickets will go on sale from Monday.

Hereford's home clash with Woking, abandoned recently because of a waterlogged pitch, has been re-arranged for Tuesday, April 3.
