Malvern singer Richard Swerrun will be entertaining audiences at Ronnie Scott's in Birmingham next week.
Richard is embarking on a national tour with his band, starting at the prestigious Birmingham jazz venue.
His show, premiered at Malvern Theatres in December, sees him performing works by Sondheim, Gershwin and Bernstein, through to Lennon and McCartney.
Richard was previously seen in Malvern in the title role of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat last year. He hopes that this is the start of a successful solo career.
"I'm very excited as it's such a prestigious club," he said.
"This is my first venture as a solo performer and I'm very, very pleased that Ronnie Scott's approached me."
He will be accompanied by his seven-piece band, who he says are an essential ingredient in his act.
"I'm very lucky to have such a superb musical director and superb musicians behind me," he said.
Richard said the up-coming gig should be great for him, as he is used to performing in theatres. The Birmingham club should be a different type of venue for him and his band to experience.
The show is on Friday, March 23 and Saturday, March 24. Tickets are £15.50 for non-members of Ronnie Scott's, with reductions available for members. For more information and tickets, call the box office on 0121 643 8086.
