A NEW leaflet which gives details on Worcester's 10-year plan for change was today due to be delivered to every home in the city with the Berrow's Worcester Journal.

The City of Worcester Local Plan brochure sets out the ground rules for planning applications in the city over the next 10 years and points out where buildings can and cannot be built, what type of buildings are appropriate and what undeveloped land can be used for.

Worcester City Council is keen to make sure all city residents are given the chance to have their say on the detail contained in the plan and, as well as the leaflet, it has organised a series of information roadshows for residents.

''Everything included in the local plan is based on Government planning policy and the social, environmental and economic needs of the city,'' said David Wareing, city council chief executive.

''It tells how we plan to meet new Government and county council housing targets and employment land targets, how we will encourage investment, our plans to conserve the historic fabric for future generations and what we propose to do to make Worcester an even more attractive place to live,'' he added.
