EVESHAM Archery Club's Simon Tarplee continued his build-up to the World Champio-nships with victory at the West Midlands and County of Worcester Indoor Championships.
The European outdoor compound bow title holder notched up 588 to beat national teammate Chris White. Lloyd Burton recorded 554 to finish second in Worcestershire and third in the West Midlands.
In the limited compound bow section, Chris Howells and Ian Trout were neck and neck after 48 arrows but a 112 final dozen from Howells to Trout's 88 saw him reign supreme.
Jacquie Williams (445) took the West Midlands and County of Worcester junior lady honours, while Daniel Burton claimed the junior gent titles.
Malcolm Porter (552) was third Olympic bow in Worcestershire, while Barbara Stanway (508) secured the ladies' bronze. Lesley Howells won the medal for best score by a D class archer.
The junior lady Olympic bow event saw Holly Harding (388) to finish second in the West Midlands and County of Worcester.
Tim Haines entered a superb 450 to seize the Worcestershire under-15 trophy and West Midlands junior gent silver medal.
In the team competition, Porter, Stanway, Howells and Peter Williams finished third. This was also the final leg of the Garrington Cup and the club sealed victory in the inter Worcestershire clubs Olympic bow tournament.
