THE Stratford-upon-Avon Motor Cycle Club wasn't able to stage the famous Colmore Cup Trial last weekend due to the Foot and Mouth crisis.

Due to be held in the Moreton-in- Marsh/Broad-way area, the event was a round of the British Clubman Championship and had attracted a quality entry of 100 plus riders from throughout the UK.

The Colmore was first held in 1911 - one of the first organised motorcycle events and it was also a victim of the 1967 outbreak.

The club has arranged a social evening at their headquarters in Tiddington tomorrow evening when the invited guest is well known local trials rider Steve Saunders.

Steve, who lives near Evesham, is the area's most successful trials rider. He was British champion for many years during the 1980s and 90s, competed in the World Championships for several years, and was a multi winner of the Colmore Trial.

The evening will take the form of a question and answer session and will be hosted by club treasurer and past Midland Centre Trials champion, Alan Wright.

The venue is the Home Guard Club, Main Street, Tiddington. Admission is free and all are welcome for an 8.30pm start.
