MY home is now in Weston but my heart remains in Worcester.
I still read your newspaper, always back-dated. Michael Grundy's column is always of interest as he mentions so many people with whom I was associated over the years.
Names such as Marshall, Pratley, Eden and Jenkins. There were two Jenkins brothers who were employed by the council because they were expert boatmen. In the days when there were houses in Hylton Road, they managed the boats taking food to the occupants.
The River Severn flooded down Hylton Road and the boats needed experts to handle them. I was closely involved in flooding from 1947-1983.
Regarding the sewage problem in Waverley Street, that has always occurred in my time with high floods. It is not a new problem.
FRANK CLAXTON,
Weston Super Mare.
