THERE is something S Blight and R Lea (You Say, March 3) seem to have forgotten and yet it only happened about a couple of months ago.
Worcester Bridge was closed and St John's isolated because of floods. This is why any new bridge should be as near the existing bridge as possible and three lanes wide to cope with two-way traffic in times of flood.
M Hyde and myself have suggested such a bridge before on making Cripplegate Park into an island. Would someone inform me why such a bridge cannot be built from Tybridge Street to either Dolday or The Butts, using more or less the existing road lay-out?
M SIMPKINS,
Droitwich Road, Worcester.
