AFTER recording their first ever win in the Evesham Indoor League on their previous outing, St Benedict's were quickly brought crashing down to earth at the hands of title chasing Overbury.

A second win was never on the cards as Overbury blasted out a daunting total of 143-1 with Haynes, J Munro and Gillett all having to retire having reached 25.

In reply, Sara' unbeaten 28 was the solitary resistance as Gillett's opening spell of 1-9, including the prize scalp of Powell, ended the game as a contest.

Overbury's win kept the pressure on Ashton, who recorded their fifth straight win at the expense of a gallant Bidford side.

Ashton were always struggling as only Cooper (26no) and Hudson-Wood (18no) impressed with the bat in a modest score of 99-3.

Bidford started their reply solidly reaching 27 without loss before Turner (3-15) started the demise that saw the chasers end 15 runs short despite Nason's 22 and 19 not out from Cooper.

Results: Overbury 143-1, St Benedict's 58-5; Ashton 99-3, Bidford 84-5.

Fixtures for March 20: Overbury v Ashton, Elmley Castle v Bidford.
