A SURVEY of Bewdley houses affected by last autumn's floods has taken place this week.

The Environment Agency is collecting information to help design a range of options for a flood alleviation scheme for the town.

They have asked people to share their knowledge of the area's history, establish property foundation positions and check cellars.

Principal project manager Kevin Boulton said: "We need information to ensure the design takes into account the history and construction of premises and construction works do not have adverse effects on the structures.

"Many residents know the history of the area very well.

"We are seeking their help to enable us to design a scheme which will protect the community as well as complement the beauty of the area."
