A PENSIONER who had her winter fuel payment delayed was "reassured" she would receive it - by June!
However, after intervention by Wyre Forest MP David Lock, Gwendolyne Wood will now receive her sum by the end of the month.
Mr Lock wrote to the Benefits Agency and was originally told Mrs Wood, of Tennyson Way, Kidderminster, would receive her payment by June but his protests brought an asssurance it would be made this month.
He said: "I get thousands of requests from my constituents every year and I try to act as swiftly as possible to resolve their problems.
"As always, I urge anyone who has a problem that I might be able to help with to contact me."
