WORCESTERSHIRE'S new signing Glenn McGrath will have to pass an Australian Cricket Board fitness test prior to his departure for New Road.
A similar situation involves Shane Warne who was granted permission by the ACB earlier this week to accept a one-year deal with Hampshire.
ACB chief executive Malcolm Speed said Warne, and any other ABC-contracted cricketer wanting to play in England, would be ordered to undergo the fitness test in a bid to reduce the risk of injuries.
"Any player who applies for permission will be required to have a fitness test before departure and if they are suffering or at risk of injury we can revoke our consent," said Speed.
"Secondly, when the player is overseas we can request that the player be tested by an independent medical specialist, and if he is injured or at risk of injury then, we can revoke the contract and he wont be allowed to play for that county again."
