THE Herefordshire Football League has suspended all its matches for the rest of the month because of the foot and mouth crisis.

There has been no football for the last two weekends due to the crisis, but they hope to start again on April 7.

The county's FA has suspended all its competitions until further notice, as has the Herefordshire Junior League.

Bromyard Town, who have called off all home matches for two weeks, and Pegasus Juniors both postponed their scheduled matches last night.

Meanwhile, Malvern Town kept up their quest for a top four spot in the Banks's Brewery League Premier Division with a 2-1 win at Lye Town.

Steve Walker gave them the lead from the penalty spot two minutes before the break, and although Adie Everson quickly equalised, Andy Shepherd fired in a 62nd-minute winner.

Westfields went down 1-0 at Brierley Hill Town, for whom Sean Pearsall got the only goal eight minutes from time.

Hereford United won 2-1 at Rushden and Diamonds in the Central Conference. John Shirley and Kerry Giddings were on target.
