Martley 1, Littleton 4

LITTLETON kept up the pressure at the top of the Worcester Premier League with this workmanlike win.

After losing their first league game of the season, Littleton are now unbeaten in 15, winning 12 and drawing three. And, before Saturday's game they were four points ahead of nearest rivals Archdales with a game in hand.

Littleton were quickly into their stride, and took the lead after five minutes when David Tomkotowicz, picked up the ball 20 yards out and lashed it into the net.

Martley attacked straight from the restart and it needed a goalline clearance from Mark Gledhill to keep the lead intact.

After 32 minutes Ben Greenwood doubled Littleton's lead with a low drive from 16 yards.

Three minutes later it was 3-0 courtesy of a Steve Pitcher special - a free kick from 30 yards which he hammered past the goalkeeper before he could move.

Martley, however, kept at their task and reduced the arrears six minutes before the break.

The second half was an even affair with both sides having chances. Martley hit a post and Littleton had a goal disallowed for offside before the scoring was completed in the 74th minute when Pitcher drove home from the edge of the box.
