THE town council's views against a flood defence system in Bewdley is a vote for no flood insurance, depreciating house values and increased flood damage to listed buildings in years to come. The upside is an increase in winter tourists gloating at those who have been flooded.
Luckily those who have been flooded have a residents' committee that can forward-think on this issue and deal with the reality of the situation to ensure the whole community grows and prospers, not drowns.
