AN ample case for Euro sceptics was unwittingly summed up in the recent Shuttle/Times and News Nature Notes feature referring to gorse.
Quote: "There are two varieties on the reserve - western and European gorse, and it is the European variety that is the problem, as it is a fairly aggressive, rapid growing plant that grows in clumps, and stifles all other plant life" - an apt description of a growing federal Europe.
