KIDDERMINSTER Boundary firsts capped a good weekend by jumping to the top of Midlands Division Two.

They defeated Telford 3-1 at home despite starting badly and being a goal down at the interval.

But an improved second half display followed inspirational half-time words from Simon Burkes.

A well-drilled penalty corner routine enabled Mark Taylor to slot home the equaliser.

Tom Jarvie rounded off a good move to put Kidderminster ahead before Adam Robson added a third.

Good displays by Chris Pocknell, Gary Burkes and man of the match Stuart Mol enabled Kidderminster to fight back in the DTZ League.

They were two goals down after 20 minutes but the recovery started just before the interval when Rupert Upshon scored from a penalty corner.

Upshon equalised as Kidderminster took control and Ed Lang grabbed the winner to ease their relegation worries.

Kidderminster started the DTZ League encounter in confident fashion.

From one of several penalty corners, young Paul Rhodes eventually beat the keeper.

Telford fought back and forced stand-in Richard Maw to pull off a superb save.

After the interval, Neil Jarvie sent a searing shot into the roof of the net.

Kidderminster badly needed a win to keep their DTZ League promotion hopes alive after two successive defeats and they did it in style.

Young Rob Cookson, Keith Burgess and Phil Williams put them three-up at half-time.

The second half was one-way traffic and Burgess completed his hat-trick.

Other goals came from Neil Firminger (2) and Cookson.

The fifths recovered to play good hockey after falling behind early in the first half.

Ian Lloyd equalised from a goalmouth melee followed by a second from Paul Grummitt. But Heath levelled just before the interval.

Adam Crouch and Mike Wakenshaw both missed clear chances in the second half which proved costly as Heath sneaked a late winner.

Kidderminster dominated the Worcestershire Division Two game against Old Sills who were a player short.

They failed to score in the first half but the pressure finally paid off after the break.

A superb run by man of the match Helen Moore ended in a great strike.
