WYRE Forest Swimming Club's Adam Cotgrave won a hat-trick of gold medals in the 13/14 age group at the Worcester County Championships.

Cotgrave's wins came in the 50 metres butterfly, and both 50m and 100m breaststroke.

He also took bronze in the 200m individual medley and the 400m freestyle, just missing the third position in the 100m butterfly.

And just for good measure, he helped the 13-14 medley and freestyle relay teams to silver.

Around 60 club members took part in the first two days at Worcester and Wolverhampton.

Wyre Forest swimmers brought home six gold medals, 23 silvers and 13 bronzes. A further 37 gained finalist positions.

Club members took gold, silver and bronze in the boys' 13-14 age group 50m breaststroke.

Another gold medalist was Rachel Harrison in the 10-11 years 50m butterfly.

She also won silver in the 400m freestyle and bronze in the 200m individual medley, as well as silver with the 12 and under girls in the medley and freestyle relays.

Daniel Baylie won the 12 years 50m butterfly plus bronzes in the 200m individual medley, 400m freestyle and 200m butterfly.

Baylie was seventh in the 50m breaststroke and took part in the 12 and under medley and freestyle silver-winning team.

Peter Macbeth took another gold in the 10-11 years 50m butterfly and he finished seventh in the 200m individual medley.
