Evesham 3, Stratford 4

EVESHAM entertained Stratford in a DTZ West Midlands Premier match and started poorly conceding two early goals through slack defending and abysmal positional play.

The goals did little to boost Evesham's workrate and they were lucky not to concede a third with a superb save by Nicholas off a flick.

The half ended with Evesham showing the inconsistency that has plagued their season.

Evesham failed to rally following the interval and lack lustre defending again resulted in the loss of two more goals.

With 15 minutes of the match remaining Evesham finally came to life and began a valiant comeback.

Inspirational play by Cox brought the attacking edge that the hosts had lacked.

Two goals in quick succession courtesy of fantastic strikes from Martin and Chatterley gave a desperate Evesham side a lifeline.

A rare goal from skipper Moss then gave the home side hopes of a draw but they returned to their poor first half form and only breathtaking defending from Jobson saved the strugglers from further embarrassment.
