HIGHWAYS bosses were forced to close a road near Tardebigge, to stop passers-by from seeing animals being slaughtered.
Grange Lane was closed last week by Worcestershire Highways Partnership in Bromsgrove following orders from the police and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
Highways manager Jon Fraser said: "We were asked to take the emergency action to stop members of the public seeing animals being culled at a nearby farm."
There is no outbreak of foot and mouth at the farm, but a MAFF spokesman said the culling could have been a precautionary measure.
