KINGS Heath manager Sean Lawless is unhappy about the prospect of sharing double-header weekends with Lye Meadow tenants Alvechurch in a bid to catch up on a nightmare fixture backlog.

With at least 24 matches to be staged on the ground before the extended end of the season on May 19, Alvechurch are considering playing on Friday nights with Heath playing on Saturdays.

"To be honest I'm not very happy about playing a day after them," said Lawless.

"At the start of the season we played our midweek games on Tuesdays with them playing on Wednesdays but since Christmas they have switched it round so we are playing on a pitch they have cut up. We are paying a fair amount of money to share the ground."

Lawless was keeping an eye on the Birmingham Senior Cup match between Evesham and West Bromwich Albion tonight (Wednesday) with the winner set to visit Lye Meadow on Wednesday, March 28.

With Heath set to entertain Coventry Sphinx in the league on Saturday (ko 2.45pm), Lawless was furious to learn he would be without defender Tommy Duggan after the fireman got sent off in a match against London Fire Brigade.

Because the fire services competition is run under FA rules, Duggan will be banned for three matches and also misses next Wednesday's derby trip to Feckenham and the visit of Pershore the following Saturday.

Midfielder Peter Bennett is also unavailable on Saturday but hopes to return against Feckenham and Mal Teague is back after work commitments along with sweeper Scott Matthews who is fit again after a knee ligament operation.

The Kingsmen followed up last week's 1-1 draw with Feckenham by losing 4-1 to Bolehall Swifts at the weekend.
