Gingerbread UK plans to set up a branch in Redditch following research which revealed a large population of lone and single parents.
The money, which was allocated by Redditch councillors during an amenities committee meeting on Monday, will provide a base for Gingerbread at the Ecumenical Centre, where people can meet and discuss their problems with experts who will offer advice.
A total of £4,081 was allocated to different organisations on Monday, including £620 to Redditch Women's Aid and £400 to Worcestershire Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre.
