YOUR correspondent S Blight says that the influence of the Liberal Democrats will be limited while we retain the "first-past-the-post" electoral system (You Say, March 5).
S Blight need not be so pessimistic. A recent MORI poll asked people how they would vote if they thought the Lib Dems could win in their constituency. Up to 36 per cent said they'd vote for the Lib Dems.
At the next General Election, if enough people vote as they really want to, and support the Liberal Democrats, even the existing flawed electoral system could produce the first Lib Dem MP for Worcester.
