A TYPICAL Redditch high or middle school is to receive an extra £98,000 after the Budget announcement more money will go directly to headteachers outside the Standard Spending Assessment (SSA) system.
High and middle schools are to benefit from a £70,000 grant to pay for extra staff, classroom assistants, computers or books and an additional £28,000 for improvements to buildings.
Meanwhile, typical first schools in the town will receive £24,000 for general spending and £9,750 for building work.
Redditch MP Jacqui Smith said: "Including the extra money from Government, spending in Worcestershire schools is increasing by 8.1 per cent this year."
Ms Smith added while the basic funding formula was being changed, funding for county schools continued to grow and standards to rise.
