KIDDERMINSTER Harriers had little use for their new £20,000 electronic scoreboard last night.

Jan Molby's men battled out a dire 0-0 draw in their Nationwide League Division Three match against Scunthorpe United at Aggborough.

For Harriers it was their second scoreless deadlock in four days after a dismal run of three defeats in which they had conceded 12 goals.

"A clean sheet and a point, they were the positives, that's it," was how Aggborough boss Jan Molby summed up what was an instantly forgettable match against a Scunthorpe side who had won their previous three games.

Molby felt that Saturday's hard-earned draw at Rochdale had left its mark on his players.

He said: "I think half of them hadn't recovered. There were players out there who didn't react to anything. Some of them looked so tired. It seemed as if it was too much for them.

"The gap between our midfield and strikers was unbelievable. We were never together as a team and therefore we could never get any momentum going.

"This match ranks alongside the Carlisle game when we got beaten 1-0 and the Exeter one which was 0-0. It was dire."

Throughout the match on-target efforts by both sides were few and far between and even Molby's bid to inject new life into his side in the second half by making three substitutions failed to pay off.

Harriers' first shot on goal came after half an hour from Stewart Hadley while 'keeper Tim Clarke did well just before half time to block an effort by Wayne Graves.

The tempo of the game never reached any great heights in the second half with Clarke again denying Graves shortly after the break.

Harriers' main second half chances fell to Daire Doyle, Dean Bennett and Paul Webb, but players and supporters alike were grateful for the final whistle in a match which denied The Iron the chance of a 'double' after beating Molby's men 2-0 at home in August.
