TOWN progressed to the semi-final thanks to a scintillating second half performance against much-fancied Division One high flyers 'Church.

Darts opened brightly but Town gradually got more of the ball. Somewhat against the run of play Town took the lead. A cleverly-flighted ball from Gary Morgan caught the 'Church defence square and Scott Gaffney ghosted beyond them to hit an unstoppable volley into the roof of the net.

Town got more into the game with Darren Turk proving a handful for the 'Church defence and twice going close. Darts had their chances with Town at times living dangerously.

Shortly before the break 'Church hit the equaliser their display merited.

Darts got their noses in front, but Town battled back and another Morgan cross forced 'Church to concede a headed own goal.

The visitors were spurred on by this, and a minute later Stuart Eades latched on to a defensive error to hit Town's third. Town now had the bit between their teeth and opened up a two goal cushion when Carl Gray struck the fourth with a left foot shot off the keeper's left hand post.

Darts responded when Melusi Cartwright's 20 yard effort was deflected past Nind. Town, however, were working harder and were in the ascendancy. They wrought havoc in 'Church's defence, with Turk slotting home the fifth, Adam Pincher the sixth and Stephen Hinton completing the rout with Town's seventh. Man of the match was Scott Gaffney.
