FAIRFIELD completed the double over second placed Coleshill on Saturday.
The game kicked off on a very heavy pitch and both sides were showing each other the utmost respect, with chances very limited.
After 25 minutes it needed a good save from visitors' 'keeper Ken Sanders to keep the scores level.
Five minutes before half time Ian Brown broke through for the visitors but his shot was parried by keeper Greg Allen, and from the rebound Richard Whitlock had his shot cleared off the line by a home defender.
In the second half the home side pushed Villa on the defensive but Villa's back four of Steve and Martin Tranter, Paul Webb and Steve Salmon stood firm and kept the home forwards at bay.
In the 75th minute Wayne Davies broke clear but he was fouled on the edge of the area, and from the resulting free kick 'keeper Allen saved well from Junior McKeon.
In the 86th minute Villa scored the all important goal when Vinny Rattray broke from midfield and steered the ball past Allen into the net for another fine win.
