THE Palace Theatre has secured a photographic first by staging an exhibition of 28 photographs at its gallery.

All the pictures on display at the Alcester Street venue are described as natural photography, which captures the moment without enhancing the picture with filters, image manipulation or camera and processing tricks.

With the exception of two studio portraits, all the work featured has been taken in natural light.

Palace Theatre publicity officer Paul Hughes said: "Although the gallery has always been used for paintings, it is great to see a new medium being displayed.

"It has already been causing a lot of interesting comment with theatre patrons and I thoroughly recommend that people come and view this excellent exhibition."

Other artists interested in exhibiting at the Palace Theatre Gallery can call Mr Hughes on 61544 to arrange a viewing or booking.

The exhibition will be held until the end of May.
