A STUDLEY teenager who is a member of the national Youth Parliament is back from London where he helped draw up a manifesto for the attention of MPs.

Nathan Brake, 16, of Castle Road, worked with 300 other youngsters on the three-day trip, including Scottish and Northern Ireland representatives, to decide the way forward for the Youth Parliament.

He will now attend regional meetings with representatives from Warwick and Rugby every two to three months but is appealing for funding for a computer with internet access so he can keep in touch with other members in the meantime.

He said: "I don't have access to a system and cannot afford one myself but need to find out what is happening in other people's areas.

"I will try to make a difference in my area and change people's views towards today's youth.

"We made a lot of points about law in society and education and raised concerns about drugs, vandalism and the lack of leisure facilities for young people."

Nathan, elected in November, was encouraged to stand as a candidate by his co-workers at Studley Youth Centre, where he has been a volunteer for about 12 months.

Colleague Pat Mitchell said: "Nathan is determined to show he is a person in his own right and has worked very hard as a volunteer at the youth club."
