WHEN the Queen came to this city 12 years ago, a number of pensioners from each sheltered complex were invited to attend the reception.
This was much appreciated by all. Alas, no such opportunities were allowed to pensioners regarding her latest visit.
Nowadays, we have the attempt by the present council to fob off pensioners with the minimum travel concessions.
Truly the Tory/Tindie council of today lacks the human touch which defined the previous Labour administration.
