WYRE Forest MP David Lock joined in a scheme to boost trees in Britain by planting an oak sapling.
The scheme, called Trees of Time and Place, was backed by 400 MPs. It aims to encourage everyone in the UK to grow at least one tree from seed to mark the new millennium.
The 'constituency oak' planted by Mr Lock is taking root in Knowles Coppice, Wyre Forest.
