A MAN caused damage to a Worcester pub following a disagreement with the landlady over his brother's girlfriend, magistrates were told.

Linzey Mapp, aged 20, admitted causing the damage at the Paul Pry pub, in The Butts, on Friday, January 12.

Kiernan Cunningham, prosecuting, said the incident happened at around 3pm. The landlady could see he was reading a letter and he acted angrily, accusing her of interfering.

"As he left the pub he kicked the door and the landlady thought it was going to shatter," said Mr Cunningham.

He added there was more noise as he left the pub and some oak panels came away.

Iain Willis, defending, said Mapp, of Windermere Drive, Warndon, Worcester, believed the landlady had been interfering in his family's life.

"He fully accepts causing the damage," he said.

Mr Willis said his client questioned the amount of damage, quoted as £681.50.

Magistrates adjourned the case until Thursday, March 29, for further quotations for repairs.
