A WORCESTER crash victim is making a fresh appeal for witnesses, three years after an accident nearly robbed him of his life.

Surgeons twice brought Tim Hall back to life after his new bike was in collision with a car on Avon Road, Tolladine, during the mid-morning, on December 11, 1998,

The father-of-four's Yamaha FZR750cc swerved into the path of an oncoming vehicle after he claims a car pulled out in front of him.

But Mr Hall, who had bought the bike two days before, was not insured, and is trying to find witnesses so he can make a compensation claim in court.

"A couple of months after the accident the police came round and I picked out the car that caused me to swerve," said Mr Hall.

As a result of the smash, 29-year-old Mr Hall of Mulberry Terrace, Tolladine, suffered extensive injuries to his right leg and needed 23 pints of blood in an emergency operation.

He was in hospital for more than two months and since the accident has been unable to resume his work as an engineer at Cosworth in Blackpole.

"The last three years have been a struggle and I can't walk without crutches," said Mr Hall.

"Half of the back of my leg is missing and there is metal in my ankle.

"I'd only had the bike two days before and hadn't got round to insuring it. I decided to take it out for a spin round the block because it was too tempting."

"At the time there was no appeal for witnesses and we're trying to jog people's memories," added his wife, Mandy.

Solicitor Brian O'Connell, acting for Mr and Mrs Hall, confirmed they were seeking witnesses to the crash.

Anyone who may have seen the accident should contact Mr O'Connell's secretary on 01905 727800.
