THE Malvern & District Motorcycle & Light Car Club will be host to Dan Nichols of the Mini Bike Racing Combine, promoters of 50cc endurance racing at circuits throughout the country, on Wednesday (March 7) at 7pm.

The race series started 15 years ago with teams competing for six hours with only pit stops for fuel and changes of rider. Originally called Moped Mayhem, it was then little more than two wheeled banger racing, but has now progressed to a well organised and exciting event with the top machines reaching speeds of 80 to 90mph.

Bikes are grouped into different categories from road going mopeds and scooters to modified ex-works race machines, allowing anyone to participate in this relatively inexpensive form of motorsport. There will be bikes on display, videos and a chance to ask Dan any questions you may have.

The Malvern Club have two resident race teams, managed by Martin Young and Mark Spicer and are hoping to provide assistance to get a third team started.

If you are interested please come along to the clubhouse on Howsell Road, Malvern or phone Martin on (01886) 832564 or Mark on (01684) 574816 for further details.
