MALVERN Radar entertained top-of-the-table Archdales last Saturday and came away with a well deserved Worcester Premier Division point in what was their best performance for some time.

MALVERN RADAR 1, ARCHDALES RES 1

Radar keeper Steve Green was busy early on confidently dealing with a number of crosses and then diving to push Lee Seldon's shot round the post. The opening goal came in 16th minute when Radar were awarded a corner, Simon Barnett whipped in an excellent in-swinger which avoided everyone and flew into the far corner.

Archdales had some tricky skillful players in their ranks and the tireless Derek Brown and Justin Senter in Radar's midfield were certainly kept busy.

The one mistake led to Dales grabbing a deserved equaliser on the half hour. Neal Rice's long through ball seemed harmless enough but keeper Green and defender Tim Clark both left it for one another and Simon Hughes nipped in to steal the ball and he even had time to head the ball over the line at ground level.

The second half was hard but fairly fought with chances at both ends the best falling to Radar's Andy Richardson who raced clear in the final moments only to spoon his shot wide when well placed.

Late pressure from the visitors was repelled although they should have won the game when Del Heppenstall rounded the Radar keeper and instead of blasting the ball into the net he only rolled it goalward and Derek Brown appeared from no where to clear.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Radar are away to second placed Littleton, meet New Inn 1.30pm.

RADAR 3, ANCHOR ARROW 5

RADAR lined up on Sunday facing six players who had played the previous day against the Saturday side.

Radar took the lead early on through Trevor Bagnall but the visitors hit back with a four-goal blast just before half-time from Mark Suthard, Darren Faulkner and two close range efforts from Dave Burston.

The home side hit back with goals from Carl Monk and Henderson before Mick Seldon secured the points from a free kick.

On Sunday Radar are away to Northwick, meet RSRE 9.30am.
