THE Duke of Edinburgh will arrive at Avoncroft Museum of Historic Building, in Stoke Heath, at 2.45pm.

He will be met by the vice-Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire, Sir Geoffrey Dear, who will introduce him to the museum's director, Dr Simon Penn.

His Royal Highness Prince Philip will be invited to visit the museum's unique National Telephone Kiosk Collection then the party will look around the New Guesten Hall with its splendid carved medieval roof.

There, Sir Geoffrey will present the Duke to Ray Seale, secretary of the Worcester and Hereford branch of the Grenadier Guards' Association of which the Duke is the honorary colonel.

He will invite the Duke to join him and 100 other association members to have tea.

The Duke will leave at 3.20pm.

Dr Penn said: "It is a tremendous honour for the museum to welcome His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh to Avoncroft.

"It provides us with a wonderful start to our new season."

The museum opens its doors to the public for the first time today.
