AT the recent, well attended, annual general meeting of Evesham Golf Club, outgoing captain, Mike Whiteford thanked the members for all their help and support he received during his enjoyable year as captain.
A lively discussion then took place regarding clubhouse improvement before a warm welcome to incoming captain Gary Bristow.
Gary, who is a very keen golfer playing off an handicap of three, started playing at an early age in Sheffield, from where he then moved to Gloucestershire, first playing at Painswick, then Michinhamp-ton, before moving to Evesham, about 11 years ago.
He has been an active committee member in the last few years and captain of the Scratch team.
He thanked all the members for their confidence and support and looked forward to a happy year as captain.
