MU: This month's meeting was held on February 13 at St Peter's Church Centre. After the business part of the meeting Val Raymont, branch leader, gave a most interesting account of her recent visit to Hong Kong where she stayed with her family. The talk was illustrated with photographs and books. Daphne Wood gave the vote of thanks and tea was served by Vera George and Mary Olorenshawn.

SHELTERED HOUSING: Euro MP Liz Lynne, on a tour through the constituency, came to Wellesbourne last Tuesday and called at Willet House to see for herself how the elderly residents felt about the withdrawal of full-time wardens which until now provided residents with guaranteed 24 hour assistance. After talking to residents Liz Lynne said, that she fully understood their anxiety to have caring and efficient wardens replaced by an alarm call system covering several homes. Any delay in an emergency could have serious consequences apart from confusing frail and elderly people. On leaving, Liz Lynne said, that she was appalled and would register her protest with the housing association.
