What were you thinking of on February 18? If you're a member of the Guide Association in North Cotswold Division, you were remembering the birthday of Lord and Lady Baden Powell, born February 22. At 2.30pm, 100 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Young Leaders, Rangers and Guiders were part of a Thinking Day Service at St Lawrence Church, Bourton on the Water. Members came together from Chipping Campden, Mickleton, Stow, Moreton, Guiting Power, Puesdown, Temple Guiting and of course Bourton on the Water. It was a special Thinking Day Service because the division were dedicating a new world flag bought with money raised at a church service on the death of Miss Sheila Sowerbutts MBE, a former member of the Association in North Cotswold Division. Over £900 was collected and donated by her family. Gloucestershire County Commissioner Irene Catton attended the service, as well as North Cotswold Division Commissioner, Carol Redmond. After the service everyone went on to the Baden Powell Hall in Bourton, where a buffet was open. It was also a wonderful opportunity to reunite with friends met at other Guiding events.
The special service was enjoyed by all. If anyone is interested in becoming a member of the Guide Association in North Cotswolds, call Mrs Carol Redmond on 01242 820424.
