VALENTINE BALL: A rather belated Valentine Ball was enjoyed by many villagers in the prettily decorated village hall. The guests were welcomed with a bubbly drink and the ladies presented with a red flower. There was a splendid supper then for the cabaret spot local farmer Brian Weston kept the fun going with his humorous country stories. Sentimental music and dancing (and for just listening to) was provided by the Geoff Gough Band from Leamington Spa under the direction of Johnny Morrison; there were several jazz items with the brass players to the fore. Can this be an annual event was the question asked when the wonderful evening for the romantics came to an end on the stroke of midnight.
